1. Who can use Edunet

You must provide accurate registration information and keep it up to date. If you are under the age of majority, you may use Edunet only with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian, who agrees to these Terms on your behalf. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account.

2. Accounts and roles

• Students can browse, purchase courses, subscribe to or book live classes, and access the materials they are entitled to.
• Teachers can publish content only after their application is approved by Edunet. Teachers are responsible for the accuracy, quality, and legality of the content they publish.
• Administrators operate the platform, review teacher applications, and moderate content.

We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these Terms or is used unlawfully.

3. Courses, live classes, and access

Edunet offers two main products: recorded courses (one-time purchase granting ongoing access to the course’s materials) and live classes (group classes, typically billed as a monthly subscription, and 1:1 classes, billed per session or via a monthly plan). The price, schedule, and inclusions of each product are shown on its page at the time of purchase.

Access to purchased content is a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence for your own learning. You may not share your account, resell access, or copy, download, record, or redistribute content, including study notes and class recordings, except where a download is expressly offered.

4. Payments

All prices are in Sri Lankan Rupees (LKR) and payments are processed securely by PayHere. By purchasing, you authorise the charge for the product selected. Subscriptions continue for the billing periods you pay for; access to a live class is maintained while your subscription is paid, subject to any grace period we apply. It is your responsibility to renew a subscription to keep access.

5. Refunds

Refunds and cancellations are governed by our Return Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

6. Teacher earnings and payouts

Teachers earn revenue from sales of their courses and live classes, less Edunet’s platform commission, which is disclosed in the teacher dashboard. Payouts are made to the bank account a teacher provides, according to Edunet’s payout schedule. Refunds and chargebacks may be deducted from or offset against a teacher’s balance. Teachers are responsible for any taxes due on their earnings.

7. Content ownership and licence

Teachers retain ownership of the content they create. By publishing on Edunet, a teacher grants Edunet a worldwide, non-exclusive licence to host, stream, display, and deliver that content to entitled students, and to make and store recordings of live classes for that purpose. Teachers warrant that they have the rights to the content they upload and that it does not infringe anyone else’s rights.

8. Live classes and recordings

Live classes may be recorded and made available to enrolled students. When you join a live class, other participants may see and hear you. Behave respectfully; harassment, disruption, or sharing of inappropriate content is not permitted and may result in removal.

9. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Break any law or infringe others’ rights when using Edunet.
• Copy, download, screen-record, redistribute, or resell protected content, notes, or recordings.
• Attempt to bypass access controls, security, or payment mechanisms.
• Upload malicious code, or content that is unlawful, harmful, or misleading.
• Impersonate others or misuse another user’s account.

10. Student Code of Conduct

Respect for teachers and fellow students keeps Edunet a safe place to learn. You agree not to:

• Harass, bully, discriminate against, or make sexual or romantic advances toward a teacher or another student, whether in a live class, in messages, or in a review.
• Contact a teacher privately outside of scheduled, platform-hosted sessions and messaging, or request a teacher’s personal contact details.
• Let someone else use your account to attend a class or complete work on your behalf, or attend or complete work on someone else’s behalf.
• Record, download, screen-capture, or redistribute a live class or course content beyond what is expressly offered for download, even content you are entitled to access.
• Disrupt a live class — for example spamming chat, sharing unrelated or inappropriate audio/video, or repeatedly joining sessions late or unprepared — or post an abusive, false, or defamatory review.

Anyone can report a course or live class, and a teacher can raise a student’s conduct with us directly (see Contact us); reports are reviewed by an administrator. A violation of this Code may result in a warning, removal from a class, loss of access to a course or class without refund, account suspension or termination, and, where conduct may be unlawful, a report to the relevant authorities.

11. Teacher Code of Conduct

Teachers hold a position of trust with students, many of whom are school-age. Publishing a course or live class means agreeing to this Code of Conduct in addition to the rest of these Terms.

You agree not to:

• Harass, threaten, discriminate against, or make sexual or romantic advances toward any student, or otherwise abuse the trust placed in you as a teacher.
• Contact a student privately outside of scheduled, platform-hosted sessions and messaging, or request personal information from a student beyond what is reasonably needed to teach them.
• Solicit a student to pay you, or to move lessons or communication, off-platform in order to avoid Edunet’s fees.
• Publish plagiarised, discriminatory, hateful, or sexually explicit content, or content that misrepresents your qualifications or the outcomes a course or class can deliver.
• Repeatedly cancel or fail to attend scheduled live sessions without reasonable notice to affected students.

Students can report a course or live class at any time, including to flag conduct they experienced in it; reports are reviewed by an administrator. A violation of this Code may result in content being rejected or unpublished, account suspension or termination, forfeiture of pending payouts, and, where conduct may be unlawful, a report to the relevant authorities.

12. Disclaimers

Edunet is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. While we work to keep the platform reliable, we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any particular educational outcome or exam result will be achieved. Course and class content reflects the views of the teacher who created it.

13. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Edunet will not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses. Our total liability arising from your use of the platform is limited to the amount you paid to Edunet for the product giving rise to the claim in the preceding twelve months.

14. Termination

You may stop using Edunet at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or use the platform unlawfully. Certain provisions, including those on content licence, payment, and liability, survive termination.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka, and the courts of Sri Lanka have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.

16. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Continued use of Edunet after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
